ECP rejected my appeal, now cancelled by Sainsbury's head office!
An example of how going to head office can be most helpful.
I was charged for using a carpark without paying. This confused me, as I very much did pay and displayed a ticket.
Turns out it was a major keying error. Euro Car Parks recognised and had record of my payment, however declined my appeal, offering the typical '£20' charge, or the increased £85 charge if I went to POPLA.
At this point, to save myself the bother and stress of POPLA and court, I e-mailed Sainsbury's CEO with my evidence and stated my disappointment in their client. They cancelled the charge.
Take that ECP. 🍆

Please email your complaint about this to the CMA, who are currently investigating ECP for these types of issues, faulty machines etc, and add copies of all paperwork and pictures etc
Hit them where it really hurts
They issued an open letter to all private parking companies 3 months ago, especially issues like yours
