Starling Bonus Saver

Has anyone figured out how to open the Starling bonus saver account?

I opened the current account and deposited money in good faith after seeing this was needed before you can open the bonus saver.

The website process for applying for the bonus saver goes to the same page as for opening the current account, which in turn sends you to the app, which doesn't offer any savings accounts.

Seems shifty. Surely they can see nobody is signing up and investigate why.

Within app, click on Spaces at bottom of screen, click on Saving at top of next screen and add a Space. Presumably this will give you a new savings account with bonus. Can't do this myself as have had an account with them for a long time.

Bingo! Thanks. What a weird setup.

It makes this look like the saver is not an account in the normal meaning. No account number or way to deposit directly for example.

I wonder if there are reasons for this beyond providing a confusing way to open one?

Well they now have a query by email to answer. Let's see if they answer it as well as you did :-D

Been a while since I've used the savings part of the app as the rate has been poor for me for a good while now. You can only add by depositing in your current account and moving it to your savings space, as far as I am aware.
