Morning all, thanks for the start @Gers, glad you got your hearing aid fixed.
Yesterday was a dull, wet day and that's how this morning started off too but it's starting to look brighter now and, fingers crossed, it should stay dry. However, it's feeling chilly with temperatures only just reaching double figures and the official sunset time is now just before 6.30 pm.
I must say it's nice to hear everyone's good news - upcoming holidays, new sofas etc - but especially about @TravellingAbuela 's DD's post-op progress - that must be a weight off her (and your) mind.
@IzzyBee - So sorry to hear about the lady you clean for, no doubt she will feel happier at home but it's still a sad situation.
I had a bit of a mixed day yesterday, the good points being housing officer visit done and dusted for another couple of years, bath unblocked, new oven/air fryer decided upon and ordered. The not so good bits were trying to book a flu jab appointment via the Patchs system (unsuccessful so I'll go back to the old fashioned way and just ring the surgery) and the grill on my 18 year old cooker finally died.
Today's excitement is delivery of the oven/air fryer and I guess the first function I'll have to get to grips with will be the grill part! 😁 I have a Greek style beef & tomato casserole to make for tea tonight, otherwise it's just a normal day.
Hugs for those struggling with the coughs that won't go away and those caring for others. Take care all, have the best day you can. xx
Be kind to others and to yourself too.11 -
Hi all and thanks for the start @Gers x Glad you got your hearing aid fixed and the volunteering opportunity sounds great.
I’m currently waiting in chairs with DDad at the walk in GP clinic. He’s had a cough/chest issue for a few days so DSis told me to take him (very terse what’s app message!) He probably needs antibiotics and given he’s had pneumonia in the past I need to get him checked. Have also had a hearing test appointment this morning for him. It’s all go.Book club tonight so I’m using the wait time to read the final few chapters - had read the book a few years ago and fortuitously found a copy in a CS on Friday.
Dinner will be smoked salmon and pea pasta - nice and simple.
Have a good day allCoxy
