Just got a electric increase shock
My supplier just sent me the increase on my bills: 19.17% off-peak & a whopping 39.36% normal rate. But my standing daily charge up by 1p. I said sod this & aimed at moving to a new company, but they are all about the same. So i am adding more batteries to my solar system.

Are you coming to the end of a long fix?. I also note you have solar , which supplier are you with and which tariff?

Im with Good Energy, which has been ok at 6.6 off-peak & 23.3 peak + vat, but not any more. & this ends oct 31st. The tariff is called an EV Tariff. But going up to 8p off peak & 34.7n Peak.

What is your percentage split between peak and cheap rate?

8p/35p is pretty much the going rate for EV tariffs these days. There's a comparison table here:

Get a home battery and you can have 8p all day.

That peak rate is well below the SVT in my area, so you had a good deal! How long was the fix, just out of interest? It's rare to get a daytime rate that's roughly in line with the SVT with cheap overnight.

Assuming you meant the old 23.3 ex vat was lower and not the revised 34.7p - vs an average now of 26.32p and a max of is it 27.86p in Mers+NW for Oct cap at zero vat.
I guess it should really be compared to cap at start of fix - not end.

It's odd when you go to your link on tariffs it says updated 06-10-2026 & Good Energy is well out of sync on prices. ?????????

Well exactly, and the SVT - at least in my region, Eastern - has been around that or a fair way above for a long time now.

Yes i should have looked - for old rates - just not sure where to find historic regional sets.
