Exit fees for utilities
Hi
Our fixed term is due to end shortly on a duel fuel and looking to get another fixed deal, however, we are also moving in a few months and the property doesn't have gas and so will only be electricity, if i took a fixed deal and moved would we have to exit the contract and be subject to an exit fee or would it just be amended by the provider to reflect the change in circumstances?
thanks

Well it wouldnt be the providers fault your property doesnt have gas, so they would be well within their rights to charge it as you are the one varying the terms, not them.

If it is only a few months, just go onto the SVT and then fix once you have moved.

Fix the electric and go to flexible on gas. Dual fuel is does not save much if anything these days.
