Euro Car Park Notice Scotland

Hi I have received a notice to hirer of an £80 charge at Sainsbury's car park. I'm looking for advice on whether to appeal or ignore as I'm aware alot of people in Scotland ignore these charges.

I lease the car through my work salary sacrifice scheme, NHS fleet solutions and the car is from Lex Autolease. This was all I received and it says alleged event was on 8th August but letter was not sent out until 24th September. I received letter today. Any advice would be appreciated.

Ask yourself what will happen with it if you ignore it ALL they revert it back to your work or lease company for payment. ?

As most people in Scotland are ignoring pcns where they are the Registered Keeper, you are not an RK

SO, I would say try plan A in the newbies sticky thread in announcements near the top of the forum, same as everyone should

Plus appeal as hirer using the advice given at the bottom of the first post in the newbies sticky thread in announcements near the top of the forum, but no naming the driver, appeal as hirer only ( no admissions. )

Agree. A one-off appeal as hirer, to hook them away from having another pop at the lease company, to make sure the lease company doesn’t pay them to get them off their back (and bill you for the convenience!). Now that the lease company has transferred liability to you (as the hirer) - they can’t know who the driver was on the day - the PPC has no right to go back and pursue the lease company. But PPCs write their own rules, so you need to try to keep one step ahead to keep them in their box!.

Beyond your appeal (whatever the decision), just ignore them thereafter.

Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Brilliant thanks guys. I wasn't sure due to it being a salary sacrifice and reading online people saying just ignore it and if you contact them then that's you 'caught'. I'll read the information on here and follow the advice. Much appreciated

Those online people might be right, if you were the Registered Keeper, but bad advice if given to hirers and lessees

Agreed, I had a feeling it would be different for a lease car, just wanted to be sure. Will definitely follow the advice on here.
