Well done EDF!
I joined this forum to complain about EDF, but in the time it has taken to register they have come good.
Our fixed rate deal comes to an end on January 1st, so we changed to a new 2 year fixed rate deal last week. We were told there was a £200 early exit fee, but an anticipated monthly increase of only £11. Upon signing up we found out that it was £200 for electricity and £200 for gas. They drained our account which was £350 in credit. The next day we received a notification that because we were £50 in debit, we’d be paying an extra £60 per month. Needless to say we felt aggrieved and conned, but didn’t dare cancel due to the oncoming economic storm.
However, within 12 hours of sending a complaint we received an apologetic email. EDF have agreed to delay our new deal until 14th December, thereby reducing the time before exit sufficiently to waive the exit fee entirely. They have credited our account with the £400 they took and have guaranteed to honour the new tariff as agreed last week, even though it won’t be starting until after the October increases.
Well done EDF.

I do fail to see how that would have been EDF's fault or anything to complain about if they had not agreed to delay the start of the new tariff, it was user error.
