London Airport Fine

Hello,

I paid for my drop off at one of the London airports but online I put a 6 instead of a Y. I have the proof I paid. But because of the error on the number plate I have received a charge notice.

Should I just follow the same advice as outline in the main FAQs thread?

Or is there different advice?

Thank you

The easiest way to deal with this is to just appeal as keeper using the ChirpyChicken 'no keeper liability' appeal from post 1 of this thread:

Even though you actually paid, if you admit to being driver & explain what happened and show them proof of payment they will still likely try to charge you £20 for a keying error.

Edit: If it's APCOA, then the above appeal should do the job, but I also strongly recommend listening to Coupon-mad below!

I don't agree. Not in this case.

I think the keeper clearly tells the PPC exactly what the single digit keying error was (without saying who was driving) and demands it is cancelled under the minor keying error Code of Practice clause.

That leaves no wriggle room, not even if it's Times24.

PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
