Morning all, thanks for the start @ScarletRibbons.
@Chrisca50 - Fingers crossed your cough and temperature aren't the beginnings of Covid. Even if it's just a cold though, you may well have to re-arrange your flu jab appointment for when you're feeling better.
@Gers - Mañana is becoming an all-too-frequent visitor here of late. 😁 And keep up the nonsense waffling, we're all guilty of that sometimes!
@TravellingAbuela - I have my fingers crossed your DD's antibiotics will kick in quickly but I'm surprised she wasn't given a supply of dressings to use at home.
@mehefin - Nice to hear from you, good that you're keeping busy.
@dp1 - Enjoy your trip to Alnwick Gardens, I'm sure LO will love the light show and firework display.
@Suffolksue - Keep plugging away at the weight loss, it isn't easy as I well know. Hope you have a better night's sleep.
@AlwaysAllie - That is a lot of medical stuff! Hope your eye improves quickly.
Yesterday's tasks all done including a pleasant surprise or two. My half-yearly financial review of expenditure vs income was better than expected, especially the grocery budget given that I've been feeding an extra mouth for the last 7 months. And the eyelet curtain header tape I'd ordered arrived much sooner than expected - I foresee much sewing!
It's a beautiful autumn day with bright blue sky and sunshine from the outset. However, my day did not start off well when I had a shower as the bath is now blocked so I'll have to request yet another plumber visit. Grr, not good when it's an over-bath shower. In the last few weeks I've had a leaking kitchen tap, a blocked bathroom basin, a leaking shower and now this. 🙄 I know these properties were built some 60+ years ago and have the original plumbing but I can't help thinking the council's repairs are sometimes of the temporary sticking plaster nature rather than getting down to the nitty gritty. Oh well, worse things happen at sea.
Today I'll have a walk up to the Co-op for a TV guide via the community library to return a book; no doubt I'll be borrowing another one or two if there's anything that appeals. I've had a text reminder from the optician to make an appointment for an annual eye test and, as the CS is next door, I'll take the donations bag at the same time plus browse for jigsaw puzzles to add to the winter pastimes stash. Tonight's meal is a salad to use up the last of the fridge leftovers so from tomorrow I can resume divesting the freezer of its contents.
That all for today so I'll wish everyone the best of days, take care all and stay safe. xx
Be kind to others and to yourself too.9
