London comedy clubs on a Sunday night.

I'm planning to see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory next year at the London Coliseum on the 1st August in the afternoon. I've booked the Hub by Premier in Covent Garden. The show starts at 3 pm and finishes at around 5:30 pm. I was thinking, after I checked into my hotel, of going to a comedy club for the evening. Should I have time to grab a quick bite to eat, before going to go to a comedy club?

Many thanks

Yes, The Comedy Store and a few others do late shows (after 9pm). I know others that start between 7-8

The comedy store is about 5 minutes away, their Sunday evening show is very good. Starts at 730 so loads of time to get food and there are lots of options there. I can heartily recommend Zylia, Bancone or Burro if you are eating nearby.

Do you normally have to pre-book a ticket, and you just turn up?

You also have the top secret comedy club on Drury lane - it's very much spit and sawdust but they often have famous comedians in there trying new material.

About 10 years ago I unexpectedly saw Jack Whitehall and Paul Chowdry for just £1 on a Sunday night

For The Comedy Store I would book, you may get tickets on the door but they often have big names and sell out. I saw Paul Sinha and Marcus Brigstocke there unannounced although both sold out.

Has anyone been to The 99 Club or the JK Comedy Club? Both of them are around the corner of my hotel.
