Domain forwarding issue - sometimes...
Hi all. I have a domain name which has an email address that when people send to it, forwards to a Rocketmail (Yahoo) address. I've done this for years without issue. As far as I know, it all still works fine - I get plenty of emails and no one has mentioned there being a problem. Apart from one company. 2 seperate people have tried to email me using my name@domain.com address and they get a message back saying 'The following recipient address could not be reached - name@rocketmail.com Does anyone have any idea what might be going on here please?

It means that the email forwarded could not reach your rocket mail address. The rest of the bounce email will explain why.

Thanks but my questions is, why is it happening with this one company who are trying to email me and no one else? Could there be a problem at their end?

Been a long time since I worked in IT and sendmail, but is it possibly because they are sending their mail with a read receipt request?

So with this your email is sent to a mail server on @domain.com and then that mail server sends the email on to @rocketmail.com server but spoofs the sender to be the original sender@theirdomain.com.
When the @rocketmail.com server receives the email it will do the normal checks. Some domains are set up with extra protections to ensure others dont spoof their email addresses. As this email has come from your email server not theirs Yahoo therefore rejects the email as its a spoof and the bounce goes back to the who the email declares as a sender which will be sender@theirdomain.com
Get them to email name@rocketmail.com and it should go through fine.

As I said you'll need to see the whole bounce email to find out why your message bounced.
That will tell you if that company is doing something different or whether the Rocketmail servers have blocked an IP address associated with one of the mail servers between the company and your forwarding service.
