Morning all, thanks for the start @ScarletRibbons. Enjoy your break in the Lake District.
@TravellingAbuela - I have one of those garden kneeler/seat things that lives under the stairs and I often use it around the house when I'm cleaning skirting boards etc, in fact anything that needs me to get down on the floor 'cos I find it hard to get up these days. 😁
@Gers - Glad you enjoyed the show last night, fingers crossed your air fryer arrives tomorrow when normal postal services are resumed.
@IzzyBee - I enjoyed the 70 Up programme too, very poignant at the end.
@dp1 - Us oldies may well forget a lot of things but still have our times tables ingrained into our memories!
I had hoped yesterday's forecast rain might pass us by but no, it arrived around 4.30 pm. Tbf, it didn't last too long but did make the day seem even more dreary than it already was. Back to autumn sunshine today, very calm, no rain but a chilly start. Heating is on an as/when basis at the moment but I can see the timer going on soon for early mornings, especially in the bathroom. No word on an appointment for the shower repair yet.
I had a walk to the SA clothing bank yesterday and managed to dodge the rain. Still quite a few flowers in gardens to admire, not to mention autumn/winter berries, and one had tomato plants with green fruits (good for chutney) and still producing flowers that I doubt will come to much. In the afternoon I started my new book, two chapters in and it seems promising, then did some of the new Xmas cross stitch picture.
I have a grocery delivery arriving within the next hour with three subs, two of which I'll keep and the third I'm still pondering on. This afternoon I must do some laptop housekeeping as it's running very slowly - too many saved emails etc that can go and, as for cookies, way too many! Tea tonight is a couple of chorizo style sausages with leftover rice from Saturday's curry; I think I'll do it egg fried rice style, then I'll settle down to watch the second David Olusoga programme about Britian's slave traders. Trouble is he has such a soporific voice I may well miss most of it! 😁
Here's hoping the sleep fairy will sprinkle some magic dust over our sleepless ones tonight, healing thoughts for those not so well ones. Take care all. xx
Be kind to others and to yourself too.9
