Help to book a surprise Holiday plzzzz

Hi all still a newbie at all this... so plz bear with me.
I am looking too book a holiday in the caribbean anywhere really i have a 3yr old and am looking to book with a low deposit and for late oct 08 around the 20th can anyone help please looking for 2wks.

Cheap as possible is a very wide amount, as what is cheap to one person won't be cheap for another so it would be more useful to say how much you are looking to spend.

You've also not said how many people it's for which makes it tricky to check prices.

I booked a suprise holiday for my husbands 30th last october and took him to Las Vegas. I managed to get him all the way to Manchester airport before i had to confess.... I cant believe he actually thought that i was taking him on a golfing weekend to Manchester at the end of October???

Anyway the only Caribbean destination that you would get is Puerto Plata from Glasgow. I believe that Mytravel/Thomas cook have a flight, we had to go from Gatwick as it was early April that we went both times. It should be well within your budget. I have been twice with 2 kids youngest was 10 months the last time. No one in my party has ever been the slightest bit ill and there was 6 of us both times.

I have just been on the thomas cook website. Just put in faraway holidays and enter all other info. For examples, 4* AI in Dominican was coming out at well under your budget.

Half term is always popular-as your child is below school age it might be an idea to avoid that particular week if you can. You'd get more choice and a better price moving it a week or two. Cuba is worth a look-great prices nice all inclusive hotels and no Americans so a far more Latin flavour than most of the other Caribbean islands
Ermmm you DO know October is hurricane season though-Don't you ??

I think that late in October, it would just be coming out of it. We went at Easter (just at the start of the season) and although there was patches of rain, it was fine. Agree with the comments about avoiding half term. I have to go in school hols and the price is bumped up massively.

think i am rapidly going off this idea lol dont wanna have crap weather lol any other suggestions on where to go? off to egypt in a week so not there any where else?
