Changing pet insurance

Currently looking at the option of changing pet insurance for our 5 year old dog.

Currently with Waggel and the renewal price has gone up along a fair bit along with the vets telling me that they don't accept direct claims for them.

Dog currently has no pre-existing medical conditions but has had anal gland empties and teeth plaque mentioned at the annual review visit/booster injection.

Would these exclude anything if I were to swop insurance policies?

Anything that could be related to these conditions would be excluded unless you take out a policy that will include pre existing conditions after a set time. - often 2 years.

So any further problems involving the anal glands would be excluded.

Did the vet recommend any treatment for the plaque?

Did you follow it?

Not all policies cover dental that is not accidental injury.

You need to read any policy document, not just the summary, very carefully to know what exact cover you have, including time or value limitations.

With the plaque issue, the vet just advised to brush the dog's teeth which i am doing.

Good point about checking the specifics of the dental cover.
