Court Date Issued
Advice please….
In short I’m going to court against ECP they state I didn’t purchase a valid ticket.
I have the ticket and a bank statement that proves I paid. They now state that I have incurred a major keying error. The first two letters are missing. I previously used that car park weekly for swimming lessons so I know how the machine works. I’ve entered my full reg in all previous occasions. (Unfortunately I don’t have any other tickets for comparison)
I am due to start making my statement and organising my evidence to send to DCB legal and the court ahead of the date.
How likely am I to lose this case over a major keying error?

You’re not! Follow forum advice, and this is where you’ll end up!
I am due to start making my statement and organising my evidence to send to DCB legal and the court ahead of the date.
Please provide a copy (redacted of all personal identifying details, Claim Number, Password) of your Court Claim form.
Have you read the NEWBIES FAQ Announcement, post number TWO, and Template Defence Announcement, both of which give you all the processes and templates to defend your case. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

You are not going to court at all

It's a well known scam. Follow the advice on here but also consider a complaint to the CMA about them
The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) launched a major crackdown on the UK private parking industry, issuing an open warning over unfair appeals, and advising stricter government oversight CMA takes action on private parking practices.

Let's make things as difficult as possible for them.

Start from the beginning. You have a claim form presumably?
Post it up here, with personal details redacted.

yes I have used all the guidance and templates from the newbies thread which has been unbelievably helpful.
I have completed mediation which was unsuccessful as I was not willing to pay any amount.
DCB have contacted me to offer a reduced fine which again I have refused. They quoted something at me about major keying errors. Basically ‘you have missed two better from the start of your reg, any more than one is a major keying error, so how do you think that isn’t a major keying error?’
they are due to pay to court fee by the 16th October. So waiting….I guess the call had me rattled as technically yes it is a major keying error.

Or more likely to be a machine fault and manual checks could have identified the payment for this vehicle
It will likely be discontinued next month, so ignore DCB LEGAL for the time being

What did you put in your defence? Did you use the template defence?
