Irritant in the house?
I don't know how to investigate this.
My lodger and I have both had an annoying, irritant dry cough for a couple of weeks now. I went to the doctor who pronounced me healthy and it must be an allergy.
I haven't had any work done in the house for months, I haven't bought any new furnishings and I've lived here 4 years. If I go out for the day, the cough mostly goes away.
How can I investigate what might be in the house causing this?

Try checking humidity levels in the house and maybe invest in a minimum/ maximum thermometer incase a too high temperture is causing particles to be released.
Do you have a filter on your vacuum cleaner and is it regularly cleaned out.

I have a robot vacuum so it's emptied every day

What does this mean? Particles of what from where?

It could be that the place is too dry. Do you open windows every day?

Any new flowers or house plant ?

There's been nothing new in the house for months and anyway we wouldn't both be allergic to the same plant. The back door is open all day and again, why would the house suddenly become too dry/ too damp?

The list would be quite extensive, general dust, skin particles, older carpet shedding particles, older cushions doing the same, to name just some.
Really you just have to go through a process of elimination.
