Why aren’t we getting more viewings? Honest feedback welcome

I have to say my 1920’s semi also distinctly lacked kerb appeal when we bought it . Aluminium double glazing ( old style) including a spectacularly ugly door.

Plus a concrete/asbestos garage and a broken concrete driveway with a sad collection of weeds.

However rock solid build, good location, plenty of floor space and a big garden. Still here 30 years later ( kerb appeal a bit better now )

I hear you, but you were able to undo the ugly embellishments and unsympathetic changes and restore some grace and charm it would have originally started out with ( good bones ).

With volume new builds you get what you get, with little or no chance to improve on what you start out with.

Ironically, Bicester does have a self build experiment which has been running for over 10 years now ( Graven Hill) , which I did visit a few years back.

Saw some interesting individual architect designed homes, but what caught my attention was the product of a Polish based kit home manufacturer ( Dan Wood)

From my examination of their show home, if you going to buy a new build their products had a lot to offer assuming you can find an affordable and suitable building plot.

What does the EA say? It may just be your area is slow anyway. It's slow where we live in Yorkshire. Next door put their house up for sale 2 years ago, dropped the price twice and have just given up on selling to look again next year. If other houses are getting viewings, then it might be the listing, but if it's generally slow, not much you can do other than the usual declutter, tidy up, do some cheap fixes etc.

There is a pic of the driveway, there are 2 garages accessible thru the bottom of the garden, with the closest beings ours.

We've been here almost 10 years and the parking has never been an issue. Our neighbours do not drive so we are quite fortunate that they do not use their driveway. We park our cars so the car nearest the garage can drive off with ease.

Given the position of the driveay we rarely use the front door and always exit via the back door, again which is not an issue. And yes parking on the verge at the front is fine.

The house definitely does have individuality running thru it, however I wonder if we have been a bit ruthless in 'clearing the boards' for EA pix and viewings! This suggestion came from market research.

Do you mean the photo showing a general view of the back garden? It's not obvious that includes a driveway - and if it is, the other photo suggests there's a car blocking the gate.

The driveway is in picture 24 - the property includes the area where both cars are parked, plus the garage to the rear of the silver/grey car. The part of the driveway in the foreground and the garage on the right belong to the rear neighbour (out of shot on the right).

The dark painted gate and fence behind the black car is the side neighbour's. I'd assume they have a right of way over the part of the driveway they need to use to get to the gate from the private/public access road, which is out of shot on the left. So the black car would need to be parked carefully to avoid blocking the side-neighbour's access.

It does take a bit of detective work to figure it out as the EA pictures and plans aren't that clear. It could be one of the issues with the lack of viewings.

Items on top of kitchen units and wardrobes suggest that there is insufficient storage space.

Some rooms look clinical others cluttered, fridge freezer dominates and table should be away from the wall with chairs set around it.

Garden looks bland and boring

Listing above with client description gives more personal viewpoint.

Unfortunately housing market slow everywhere at the moment
