I can't see a search bar for the comps on this page. Will there be one? Also, with the tags, is it possible to have an X on it so that we can delete the ones we don't want to enter. eg IG or FB?

    Hi

Yes the search bar will still be there.

There isn't a way to exclude a tag currently, and it might not make it into the new Comps Time at changeover. But that's something we've asked again for to consider for the future.

Sorry, another question - when clicking on the links, is it possible that they open in a new window? At the moment when you click a link it opens up and takes you away from MSE site. I get around this by right-clicking it, but I know this has been mentioned before.

    Hi,

Opening in a new tab is not usually recommend behaviour any more.

In the past websites loved to do it with the idea that you keep a user on your site permanently by opening up new tabs rather than let you navigate away.

But now mobile users often prefer to stay in the same tab because it can be very difficult to use tabs on small devices - often having to open up a separate tab page. Similarly for accessibility it can make navigation difficult when using assistive technology.

And, as you note, by not opening in new tabs, it's giving you the choice, to not tab or to tab in another way - personally I always middle-click the mouse button, so I can never get used to mice that don't have that feature.

On Chrome I hold Shift and left-click, or Ctrl and left-click to open in a new tab. Or my new favourite is right-click and choose "Open link in split view".

I've been using the right-click or middle wheel since they've done away with the 'open in new tab' feature. I sometimes use the 'open in split view' when there are a lot of answers that I need to copy and don't want to go back a forth between the tabs 😉
