Morning Everyone
It's a very wet start this morning although it's due to be nice later.
Started to put some things in a bag for tomorrow evening, I think the weather is to be decent over there so will take my trusty walking sandals.
Sounds like a great trip dp1.
I bought an air fryer a couple of months ago Gers, a Ninja. Looks like a pizza oven and does quite a few things. Really pleased with it although I don't really like leaving things out on the worktop but I've got used to it and saves putting on the big oven.
Glad you're healing Allie.
Pleased to hear your DM is getting more help Ruby.
Hope you got your trousers Scarlet. I find the supermarkets are best as they usually have workwear.
Must hop in the shower before work. Take care. XX

Morning, thanks Gers. Not fully light yet, but it doesn't look as if it's going to be a very nice day. I think rain is forecast.
Well, the trousers - I went to a local shopping centre, just a short bus ride away, instead of going into Newcastle. I'd browsed a few shops before going, and went straight to M&S, where they had a bewildering array of black trousers. I was looking for a pair that I'd seen whilst browsing, price £39, thought if I bought them I'd keep them for 'best'.
Anyway couldn't find them and was getting a bit fed up, lost in a sea of black trousers, and took some to try on, straight leg, which is a bit wider than it used to be, but I didn't mind that, tried them on, looked fine, so I bought them £19.50. Not bad I thought, and they feel quite heavy as well.
When I got home I remembered that the £39 pair I had been looking for were in Next!
On the way back to the bus stop I went into Sains and bought a pair of trainer type shoes, not as clunky as trainers though, £22.
So that wasn't a bad morning, this black trousers business wasn't as bad as I feared. That was a good idea about the supermarkets Camelot, I'll check them out as well in future.
I read somewhere that every woman hunts for the perfect black trousers and the perfect jeans!
Don't know what happened to half my post yesterday, it must be floating around somewhere.
Anyway, I'll stop nattering and wish everyone a good day. Thoughts to the sad and poorly ones.
Take care folks

Morning folks and thanks GERS. I got an air fryer during lockdown .It's not an all singing all dancing model, just a smallish basic one but it's big enough for me on my own and certainly saves putting the oven on. I've certainly had my money's worth out of it.
When I got back yesterday afternoon I once again tackled the mass jumble in the freezer. I don't know how it gets so bad. This time I hope I am better organised and made an inventory of what is in each drawer to save the rummaging. When it's written down it's a bit alarming on how much there is for one person. I left some mince out as today I plan on making a batch of Bolognese as I think (hope) I have left room for it.
SCARLET how did the trouser hunt go? I am another short one, I just about scrape in at almost 5 ft, and would look swamped in the current big baggy style. Not to mention sweeping the floor as I went.
Just interrupted then by a text - middle DGD inviting herself for tea after school today. Has she sniffed out that I am making some Bolognese! So she might just get a Bolognese Bake! Younger one settled on Gnocchi in Carbonara sauce.on Monday!
Have a good day folks if you can with ((HUGS)) as always for the poorlies, sad or lonely. CAMELOT have a wonderful break. Take care all, be safe xx

Morning all
Don't like these dark mornings!
Glad you got some trousers @ScarletRibbons
I've got an airfryer and I've also got some liners that help keep the washing up to a minimum. I like the fact that when, for instance, cooking sausages and chips you can toss them during cooking which cooks them more evenly.
No plans for today except some dusting and bathroom cleaning.

Useful info about the black trouser hunt - my lovely pair of black linen trousers got a rip in an awkward place last month!, so I need to source some too. I have loads of M&S vouchers so will look there.
My ankle was more painful yesterday than from day 1 and I was very fed up. Probably not helped by ‘dashing’ downstairs because DM fell (not serious fortunately) and I heard the thump, then again later when she only dropped something. I did so far fewer steps so tried to rest a bit more. Definitely need to go a short walk today thoughHope everyone else has a good day

Good morning
It's very dark and gloomy outside, although no rain is forecast. I haven't posted for a couple of days as only the same old happening, or not more like it. I'm a member of the insomnia club today, I just couldn't get much sleep and spent the time mithering about things I can't change. Maybe a nana nap later.
I've also got an air fryer which gets used every day, and find the liners really useful. Tonight's sausages will be cooked in it.
Have a good day all, take care.

Morning all and thanks for the start @Gers Another fan of our basic air fryer here and the liners!
Glad you got some trousers @ScarletRibbons 🙌
A DDad-free day today as he’s off to work with DSis. She’s working in another town so he will be let loose to wander. He has a lanyard with our details on in case of emergency!
DH and DS2 part glazed the greenhouse yesterday so more to do today plus we have the carpet people coming to measure up. It’s all go. Dinner is pork and apple burgers in brioche buns.
Have a good day all

Morning again - many thanks for all the positive comments about air fryers. My order is arriving on Friday and I've also ordered liners and magnets.
It's pretty cold out, barely 9 degrees though there's a promise of better later. Yesterday was a day of drizzle, it's so much more horrid than proper rain. I dropped off my hearing aid first thing, then went back out when the pop up post office opened at 10.30a.m. to post of a parcel to my nephew, and later back to collect the aid. In the meantime I phoned audiology office to check on my placing on the waiting list for an urgent appointment - December! One of the two qualified audiologists has relocated to blooming Shetland. The admin person called me back later to offer me a space in the furtherest away hospital in mid-November which I took and asked to be on the cancellation list in case something else comes up. My perforated eardrum is not healing.
I watched GBBO last night and really enjoyed it. Mind you, the endless shots of Nigella opening her mouth to stick some cake in was rather odd, no shots of Paul doing it. My heart went out to the bakers who had terrible mishaps though I did see one coming.
There's a 'major drama series' being filmed up at the big house, this means some disruption to our little tracks as many more vehicles are coming up and down to it. Some drivers don't understand the concept of using passing places. One field has been taken over as a base for crew and equipment. It's a major mystery and exciting.
I'm off up to the big town this morning for some odds and sods. Other than that nothing much is happening though I live in anticipation.
Take care all. Hugs to poorlies especially.

Morning everyone,
I haven’t drawn the curtains yet so don’t know what it is like here. I have been out for evening walks the last couple of days and it has been lovely with the golden light.
I’ve been struggling the last couple of days, but found the SAD lamp in the garage so it is now in the sitting room ready for its autumn/winter use. I am determined to stick with my weight loss journey and exercise as usually during the darker days I eat too much!
Today, I will be giving the home a good tidy up ready for the start of autumn.Tea tonight? I will need to check the cupboards and see what I can rustle up.
SR, glad you found your trousers. DP1, your Christmas trip sounds lovely. Gers, how exciting about the major drama series being filmed nearby. Remmie, hope you get better sleep tonight, I had two bad nights fretting earlier this week.
Take care all.
