Initial meter reading error

I shall certainly retain all correspondence, and other evidence, for the foreseeable. BG corrected the meter readings shown in my account and added the "goodwill" credit almost immediately (I took a screenshot which I'll also retain).

A six month battle? I suppose I was fortunate that things got sorted within three months. It's strange that issues as simple as disputed meter readings can drag on so long. I guess BG hope that by extending timelines, the customer will eventually tire and give up.

Even the Ombudsman, who found in our favour, couldn't quite understand what BG were playing at. The evidence was there in black and white and they still argued against it.

Even when the ombudsman found in our favour BG were still trying to recover a "debt" on our account that didn't exist. With the payment the ombudsman instructed BG to pay us they owed us money!!

It was eventually sorted about six weeks ago and BG paid us the money they now owed us. But we have still kept all of the correspondence until we are absolutely certain that BG are not going to !!!!!! it up again. They no longer supply us but we still don't hold out much hope of this being the end to the story…….
