Any point complaining about a hospital department?

In the days when ships navigated using chronometers, the rule was to take one chronometer or three. If you took two, and they disagreed, you wouldn't know which to believe. So, I agree, the OP should get a third opinion.
In practice, although medicine is a science, there's also a lot of judgment involved. It's entirely possible that the advice from both cardiologists was correct, ie within the range that a competent cardiologist could reasonably advise given the OP's circumstances.
Pills need to be tried with a starting dose, and then that needs to be adjusted up or down to take into account the patient's own reaction to them.
It's not obvious that the OP has anything much to complain about. Maybe, the two consultants have failed to explain their thinking fully, but I think I'd ask that as a question, not a complaint.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
That's a good way of putting it. And I hadn't thought of it quite like that. I agree that asking for an explanation first would probably be more sensible than going straight in with a complaint. If both cardiologists can explain the reasoning behind their very different advice, the OP would at least have a better basis for deciding whether there is actually something to complain about.
