Universal credit from hospital

anyone got universal credit from hospital? How long did it take from start to receiving payments? As I currently cannot speak yet.

as I cannot currently speak, they sent a list of questions to the leisure and outgoings manager then she asked me them then sent it back to them.

it takes about 5 weeks to get your first payment. You can apply for an advance before your first payment. Standard allowance is £429 if you're over 25.

Have you asked UC to include current housing rent?

UC cannot help with rent arrears you built up before claiming.

You could apply to your local council authority for other local welfare support they may provide.

The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.

what happened to your HMRC refund? Did that not pay off some of your housing arrears?

If your already claiming UC you need to advise them of any hospital stay over 24 hrs.
