It's quite a nice morning but there's been rain overnight. It's so dark in the mornings at the moment.

YL, I was thinking it won't be long until I put up the door curtains again for winter.

The car saga continues - seems the number I phoned for my insurance company wasn't actually them but a claims management company pretending to be them. Seems strange as they had all my details. Will speak to the insurance company again today to see what's happening. Not sure anything else could go wrong at the moment!

Ruby, sorry to read that your mum is so ill. Hope you get some better news today. It can be so hard trying to care for elderly parents.

My dad lived till he was 95, and in the main his health was good for his age, apart from age related stuff like deafness, eyesight failing, arthritis, but he was an irascible old man, and so hard to deal with. He turned everything into a battle.

Hope you're feeling a bit better today Peony.

Housework this morning and then off for my scan this afternoon. I have to have a full bladder for it which I'm not looking forward to so can just. hope they're on time!

Hope you get your insurance sorted @camelot1001 DH's car got scraped the other week and he has a courtesy car at the moment which has lots of gadgets one of which is the speed you are going is flashed up actually onto the windscreen to warn you of your speed limit!! Spooky!

Morning all, and thanks for the start @ScarletRibbons. We will miss you @wickedlady1969, I hope you heal soon and are back with us. We're losing so many regular posters, sometimes I fear for the the survival of this lovely thread.

What a nightmare @camelot1001. I suspect that your insurance company are linked to the claims management scheme. Certainly when the stupid bloke reversed into my parked car last year I was funnelled through to them, seems I then had agreed to pay them back if the other insurance company failed to pay for the hire car. Watch out!

I'm a bit giddy today as one of my Gnieces who lives near Brisbane is travelling down to her aunt in Melbourne and then meet up with her three Melbourne cousins all of whom have never met before. It's a long sad family saga about my eldest Australian nephew who died 10 years ago and his partner then withdrew from the family. It'll be so fantastic if this first meeting leads to a closer relationship for the absent three, I've worked hard since my beloved DM died in 2021 to get all the dispart half-siblings and their offspring to establish a bond, this is the missing link. So, fingers crossed that it all works out. And huge thanks to my niece for making such an effort.

Anyway, in more mundane news, nothing of much interest is happening here. My cleaner is coming this morning so I've done the ritual tidying of the coffee table which seems to accumulate the most stuff over two weeks. I've done the mega software update of my phone, watch and tablets which was more like a marathon and I've got eggs boiling away.

All the worries about parents and families are so challenging. Worsening health is so close to all of us in some way. I hope that some problems are resolved soon. Hugs to all.

RR - sorry to hear about your mum, I hope she is doing better. TA, thinking of your DD and you today. AA, hope your walk helped you yesterday. I remember that waking up feeling when I was taking care of my elderly frail parents.

Camelot, that does seem strange about your car.

I have a routine hospital check this morning, but once this is done it will be a quiet day. I need to do an online grocery order and that is about it. I will aim to get out for a short walk as I haven’t been out for a few days.

morning everyone thanks for the start scarlet another mild day we have been lucky but it’s cold on a night and definitely darker later on a morning and earlier on a night . I’m off out to a cleaning job soon then I’m going to get my nails done when I come back I will go for a decent walk with the dog . Toad in the hole for tonight. They brought my freezer yesterday I was hoping it fit in the gap we had made my hubby kept saying you should go and measure it it fit perfectly I will never be able to do that again but I looked at it and thought what have I done there’s only two of us so I will have to get my thinking cap on it looks huge and when I have had a look at it I think it’s been in a shop so if you don’t hear about my hubby for a while don’t lift the lid . WL hope your arm is better soon hope it’s a bit better news today with your mum Ruby hope the car saga doesn’t go on much longer Camelot. Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing

Morning folks and thanks SCARLET' It's a nice start here and still feeling mild. Long may it last.

DD was due in hospital at 7.00 this morning for the lumpectomy. I am feeling all churned up and it's going to feel a long day waiting for her update. They have warned her that the elderly and those with advanced stages of bc will take priority so she may be one of the last down for surgery.

I met DF for lunch yesterday and I think we both feel better for having someone to offload our worries to. Her DH's health problems continue but at last they seem to be delving into what underlying issues he may have causing all the problems. He has been fobbed off long enough..

Sorry I have already forgotten all your news of yesterday so hope every one is well. ((HUGS)) for all in need. Take care all be safe xx.

Lovely to see so many people posting already.

Camelot - I had a similar, strange situation with insurance a few years ago, finished up having to start the claim all over again a few days later.

Thankfully I had a different walk route yesterday so some changing scenery and Bdog enjoyed. I also had a dig in the garden, some weeding and lifted a couple of slabs that are part of a longer path that needs re-laying. Great weeding conditions 🙂, soil is soft enough but not too wet. Might do some more later.

Sunny but rain forecast soon. I rang my dgd yesterday to wish her happy birthday and she was so excited she wished me happy birthday back. I got a run down of all the presents she had received, all of them were "really cool".

TA hope all goes well for your dd today and she's not waiting too long.

Ruby hope mum is feeling better and more comfortable.
