Fuse Energy, my experience of switching to them

I've had DD change over the course of a year with previous suppliers. In the past it has gone down and up in the same 12 month period.
Happy to pay Fuse by variable DD.
Things that are different: draw & drawer, brought & bought, loose & lose, dose & does, payed & paid0 -
i’ve been with Fuse for nearly a year, every month I’ve paid my exact usage. So it was more last winter, less the last six months. You can track your usage in the app, so I know exactly what its going to be every month.

I too had the email offering a fixed DD.
I didn't look to see how much they'd want, compared to my estimated usage x tariff= estimated annual cost.
I didn't bother, as I'm quite happy to continue with variable, as budgeting isn't an issue for me.
How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 3.24% of current retirement "pot" (as at end December 2025)1 -
I’ve stuck with the variable DD. I would have preferred a fair fixed monthly DD but it looks like they want me to pay my 18 month contract over 12 months. That’s not going to happen.
With other companies, I found the fixed DD less faf, but now I will have to check the app every month to see what Fuse are taking, then adjust moving money around different bank accounts to cover it.

Since leaving Fuse my EAC has dropped considerably with my new supplier in the same way that it jumped up when I joined them - coincidence or just another Fuse making it up as they go along thing ?
Never associate with idiots on their own level, because, being an intelligent man, you'll try to deal with them on their level - and on their level they'll beat you every time.
Being hated by idiots is the price you pay for not being one of them.

Maybe the new supplier is making it up as they go alone?
You'll only know in retrospect.

EAC is an 'industry' term, whose meaning varies a bit depending on where you look. In this context, you're probably referring to Estimated Annual Consumption. This figure is supplier-agnostic, derived from meter readings submitted by - I think - suppliers' data collectors and with incredibly complex smoothing mechanisms to mitigate the effects of sudden changes in consumption. It's then up to suppliers how the devise an estimate of annual usage in order to set fixed monthly Direct Debits, for example. The EAC is the figure that comparison sites will use if you don't give them actual figures.
Is it your supplier's estimate of future annual consumption that has dropped? Do you know how it's derived?
I'm not being lazy ... I'm just in energy-saving mode.
