Re: need to request personal data from credit reference agencies
Evening!
I was looking up a companies "company policy documents" and they stated that they may, in certain instances – notably in compliance of Money Laundering regulations – need to request personal data from credit reference agencies or similar. In particular they use SmartSearch. found hear https://www.smartsearch.com/privacy-notice
I mean what does all this mean? I mean if I was to go along with said company, what information are they going to take from me? and will they preform credit checks on me or not? if so what information will they gain about me and where will they get it from?
thanks

Bankruptcies and indebtedness - are you a risk to them. Putting someone with a lot of debt in front of piles of cash could present a problem. All that is held on your credit files, National Hunter and CIFAS. The policy may be general but likely only used for specific roles, the prospective cleaner will not face the same scrutiny as the cash handler. Many of these policies are to cover all possibilities / eventualities giving them options and not what they will actually do.
Never associate with idiots on their own level, because, being an intelligent man, you'll try to deal with them on their level - and on their level they'll beat you every time.
Being hated by idiots is the price you pay for not being one of them.

If their privacy policy document doesn't clarify the answers to your questions, then sharing the name of the company on here might…

Who the company is is important here.
There are "principles of reciprocity" which limit who can get what from a CRA. A non-lender (for example perhaps a company performing tenancy checks) won't be able to see information on payment histories, your credit accounts etc as they won't be sharing that information with the CRAs. They would see things like CCJ and bankrupcty infomation as these are a matter of public record as well as information on things such as previous addresses and your basic personal information as this will be something they're sharing with the CRAs.
So, who is this company?0 -
