Emailing my defence

Hi,

so my defence and N9B form is complete and I’m going to send it today. Can I check, am I supposed to CC the claimant solicitor in too? And Its better to email it than submit via MCOL right?

You should use MCOL, as explained in the 8 steps in the defence template thread in announcements near the top of the forum, not email, not post either ( no scans or pictures either. )

The CNBC in Northampton will notify the solicitor

  • Thanks for your reply! Is there an issue with emailing it? It seems that a lot of people see the mcol limit on words to be a hindrance. I’d have to cut a lot of my defence.

There's no issue with emailing it but there are a few more administrative things to get right. If it'll fit in MCOL then use it. If not, this thread discussed how to file by email.

As above, but emails go into the CNBC black hole, despite the auto response

The MCOL defence box is instant, plus the current defence template fits into it, less hassle

Yes there is an issue. CCJs.

We stopped doing this a couple of years ago because the CNBC were losing emailed defences and people who email defences still often get default CCJs. Do not submit it by email.

Your defence will fit in MCOL if you yse the Template Defence. No need to reinvent the wheel.
