Yahoo email - non-current contacts

I have an email address on Yahoo, which annoyingly when I start a new email offers me a list of people some of whom are in my “contacts” list (that’s ok) but also people who were once contacts but now deleted, may have been on multi-addressee emails but not mainstream, some of them are people now several years dead.

Is there any way I can stop these redundant “contacts” showing?

Thanks in advance.

My Mum died in February, I really wish there was a way to stop her email address being recommended every time I go to write one.

I have researched ways to stop this but nothing has worked 😢

Try Settings/Writing Email/Clear Auto complete History

Whilst Yahoo mail is not obsolete, it is very much a legacy product and I would recommend moving to a more up to date service.

@KxMx sorry for your loss and that you are experiencing the same problem.

@PHK thank you. I had a look, but don’t get those options in Settings, although I can see that it is storing that contact info, via a “Privacy Dashboard” and “Mail Download Manager” which I need a text message to access, which I’ll have to dig into. They have lately been pushing a new version, but I wasn’t aware that it was on the verge of extinction.

How would one even know what the more up to date services are? Is there a reliable listing? (That’s one of the problems with being retired, there’s no Technical Services department to contact.)
