Self contained non subscription security camera?

Is there such a thing as a movement-activated security camera you can fix up inside the house, needing no special wiring, but which records onto a chip you can then remove and put in your computer to watch? I want one without any subscription. I have seen the adverts for the Remi Safeview product which has some of these features, but it seems to have poor customer care feedback. Is there anything else?

Tapo is seemingly owned by TP-Link, which is a major tech co, so I'd imagine it's a safe bet.

I have Imou cameras outside, and they've been pretty good, and they do indoor cameras for a similar price to Tapo.

In short, I think they do what you are after - loop-record for around 2 weeks on a micro-SD, give you constant vision on their app is you want, playback of anything over the proceeding couple of weeks, and - usefully - allow downloads of anything captured that you need. Ie, there should be little need to physically remove the memory card.

Tapo is probably a more renowned co than Imou, so sounds a good bet.

We have a Tapo TC70 covering the lounge and have had no problems with it. It records footage to an SD Card if any movement is detected in an area that you can alter. You should then be able to view the footage later.

If you want, you can connect it to a home network so you can view the live camera or any footage on the TP Link app which is useful when we are away.

Eufy. We have 2 cameras that are solar powered (the battery lasts for ages if no sun). They are wireless connected to a hub which is plugged into our router. The hub stores videos which can be accessed from anywhere in the world.

I've got a few Tapo cameras and you can also record to a hub, so if someone robs your camera you will still have footage of the robbery, as the sd cards are stored in the cameras themselves, can't fault them

I have a few Blink cameras from Amazon around the house. I also have a Sync module on the network which lets you add a USB pen for storage. You can then set schedules for the cameras to be armed etc.

You can get mains powered or battery powered cameras. I was dubious about the battery life but my blink outdoor cameras all ran for over 2 years before the batteries died and replacement batteries are very cheap.

Riolink. Lots of choice of good quality cameras, no subscription, records to chip or central recorder. Recordings can be be viewed on their app. Cameras can have built in spotlights, triggered by person detection. Also, zoom, tracking and multi lens options available.
