What version of Internet Explorer?
You could download the latest version 7 from Microsoft and reinstall from: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/downloads/ie/getitnow.mspx
Firefox is excellent so worth trying to use it too...0 -

Hi Spakker, Yes, have tried that, unfortunately no luck.Someone i spoke to said i could be low on memory cos the P.C has been slowing for a while and sometimes tells me i'm low on virtual memory.Could that cause the freezing and crashes?0

Hi can you let us know the spec. of your pc? Also try start/run then type eventvwr.msc and that will show what is going wrong - iff you double click an entry you'll get an info box0

The problem may be caused by spyware or a virus.
The following site may help, starting with their FAQ.

It does sosund like you have some malware of sorts. The virtual memory problem can also be a clue.
go through the first 4 posts of this thread http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=133269 .
The spec of the pc is totally fine for browsing & normal use.Nudge nudge, Wink wink, Say No More!0 -
Have you tried a windows repair in case you have got corrupted system files? I can't see this doing any harm.0
