Hotel price tweaking
Morning all - this may (or may not) be of use to others.
I just used an online hotel platform (in my case Booking.com). I was searching for hotels in a specific location for specific dates for a work trip.
I know 2 of the hotels well as I've stayed in them both before, and they are similar quality and prices.
What I've discovered, is from the search results page/screen, if you then filter on another criteria (in my case) "breakfast included" and "fitness centre" the overall price dropped by £70, and obviously now includes a full breakfast (and both hotels already have a fitness centre anyway). Not noticed this trick before.
I don't know if it works on other platforms or if this is a pricing blip - but from my recent experience if you narrow down your search criteria, the price changes :)

I've noticed that before too - I wondered if booking.com have a set number of 'packages' they can sell, e.g. 500 room only, 500 with breakfast, so if they have lots of a certain package left the price drops. I recently booked a hotel where the price dropped by £60 when I removed parking, and booking parking direct with the hotel cost £12.
