Aren't all the bases the same?

I'd go into a plumbing shop with all the photos and ask.

Wouldn't bother me going into somewhere with a clean toilet seat. For the quickest option and no mistakes.

I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

That's what I was wondering too, but can only assume they are different from the seeming difficulty in sourcing the right one.

Assuming they are not all the same, a card template should be easy to make to check against display items. Or, as suggested, check the manufacturer's specs on their technical drawings.

One would hope that loo seats are a "standard" shape & size. Unfortunately, they are not, especially when you get to designer models.. But for my money, I'd go to somewhere like City Plumbing (they have branches in many towns).

Once you've identified the exact model, scribe a note with indelible ink on the underside of the cistern lid. Whilst you may remember the model, that note will be useful for the next owner.

Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –

Treasure the moments that you have. Savour them for as long as you can for they will never come back again.
  • Take the cistern lid off and there will be a code underneath .Google that code and it will give you the info required.

  • I thought @twopenny meant that the Ideal Standard bowls shown in the pictures all looked the same, but that could be just my interpretation. They certainly do to my untrained eye.

It’s unlikely that all the Concept toilets have different seats I’d say as it would be pretty problematic for stockists.

The suggestion to take the picture in to a local merchant is an excellent one. They’re likely to know the exact model, they’ll probably easily take it back if it doesn’t fit and it supports local businesses.
