I agree that once you mention the word craft it is like the wedding thing prices go through the roof.
Try wilkinsons as they do a few bits and pieces.
If you want cards, flowers and de-coupage papers try craftcreations it is a min order of £10 + £3.50 P+P and with the quality of there stuff it does not take long to fill up a basket. Quick delivery and really good customer services as well as a great website with tons of projects for making cards.
But then I tend to make a lot of my cards to give away to people who are raising funds for charties.
Also I look at things with an eye for making cards.

Hands up who has been more excited about the wrapping paper than the gift since cardmaking?? LOL
Havent got a wilko's near me, but I find instore/poundstretcher has some bits in the kids crafty bits section.0 -
I found a web site called https://www.craftylittledevil.co.uk and they are great for loads of bits and bobs. They sell lots of individual items without having to buy bulk purchases and they have free delivery on a £5.00 + order0

Yep that's me
My daughters always make sure cards they buy for me for birthdays, mother's day etc are the sort than I can take to bits, chop up etc for recycling :rotfl: I love cardmaking - trouble is I become a recluse once I get started - I say things like "I'm just going upstairs for half an hour" that will be at 7.30pm and will emerge 4 hours later
It's great to have the chance to hear from other crafters and I agree about Poundland and the 99p shop. Wilkinsons is good too but I didn't know about Tescos, will have to go and have a look! We've got a craft stall in Coventry Market but sadly it is very expensive, so although I would like to support a local enterprise, penny pinching takes priority

I've just got into cardmaking as well, & am finding a use for all those cards I couldn't bear to throw away... If you live in Yorkshire you might be near a Boyes which has some fantastic crafty bargains. Home Bargains is also worth checking out from time to time, and we have some stationery wholesalers where a friend gets loads of nice paper & card cheap (factory seconds type stuff).£2 savers club - £62

March target: £150 on food, £50 on other stuff - still not doing very well at keeping track...

Partners the Stationers have 3 for 2 on all cardmaking supplies. They have cards in all colours, handmade papers, really nice toppers and all sorts of bits and bobs.
Hobbycraft also have a good range of cardmaking things and sometimes have special offers.:jBorn to shop;)0 -
I have just discovered the greatest thing. went into poundstretcher -or is it called instore these days well you know where I mean- and the have in the wrapping paper section, wrapping paper with something called confetti for £1. the confetti is like quite large sequins only a bit sturdier. I got one with lots of really handy gold swirls.
Also in poundland theyhave a set of gel pens which are pastel colours and have smells. There is a white one in it and its sooo brilliant for vellum work. if you use it with your embossing stencils it looks just as good without the hard work. Excellent for parchment craft if you are into that. Only thing is the coconut smell is a bit sickly after a while.0 -
