It would appear from what you posted it is exactly the same thing that has happened to me. British Gas obviously have some sort of glitch in their system that needs to be sorted.
Today I had a response from the ombudsman and they are proceeding with my case. I would like to submit the information that you have provided if that is acceptable as it will show that BG have not rectified the situation with their system.

Sure.
Escalating to the ombudsman may lead to the underlying issue being investigated and fixed. Let's hope! There are already enough variables to consider without this spanner in the works.
