Security camera and doorbell camera recommendations

Hi all,

Id like to get a security cam system for the house. Perhaps 2 or 4 cameras - with audio, that alerts me on my phone if it detects something. Also a doorbell camera with intercom.

Does anyone have any recommendations? Is it worth going to a security company to fit all this and get advice?

Thanks. I see Eufy do doorbell, securty camera and homebase bundles.

Do I buy it, then get a security company to install? (they may advise on best positions etc); or maybe its a job for a handyman?

I easily installed a full SimpliSafe system, including 3 cameras, door entry connectors and motion detectors.
The cameras do not record unless you pay a subscription.

They are relatively easy to install, but obviously depends on your competency and where you want the cameras. A decent handyman should have no bother.

I'd been looking at Eufy and Tapo cameras, but as I already had Tapo smart plugs, I went with that brand, a couple of years ago now.

Image quality is good. I have them set to record to memory card, which you can then watch / download via the app. You can also watch things live.

The weakest link in my set up, is my internet upload speed, so it can take a few seconds to connect to the camera, to watch live, or the recorded footage.

I don't bother having notifications turned on, as my cats would trigger it a lot, and they're one of the reasons I got them, so I'm not setting them to ignore animals.

Ive decided I need:

2 x eufy Security Camera SoloCam S340

2 x eufy Security Video Doorbell C31

1 x eufy HomeBase

eufy Indoor Cam S350

Is it cheapest to buy from eufy direct (unfortunately they dont offer a bunde which contains exactly these items) or is it better going to Amazon, ebay etc.

Think you'll have to do an internet search to find out, but lots of other shops sell them too, like John Lewis and Screwfix.

I'd see if anyone has any longer warranties as standard.

You could always guage prices now, and revisit things during Black Friday.

As an FYI, I got some of my Tapo stuff, direct from Tapo, some from Toolstation, and some from Amazon.

Eufy do a loyalty points scheme so there might be a saving buying the main kit then adding other bits.

Depends what you want or need out of it. If you need to see a car reg at 40ft you will struggle with most at night even 4k Colour.
First of all i would look at some videos of it in operation.
Its only 3k and needs light at night the downfall of so many, the good ones dont need their own light source.
Theres a neighbour opposite with one, next door installed one 2 weeks ago and took it down if thats anything to go by.
