dishwasher - rubbish
Hi
Purchased a bloomberg dishwasher in May 2026. Paid by credit card, a local well known but small company.
Dishwasher is completely rubbish - i've tried several different wash types, and i'm using it the same way i used a previous bloomberg, but after each wash there are always several items that remain dirty. Have written to the local company saying 'not fit for purpose' etc, and saying that i don't believe it's user error, but am happy if they want to come and inspect or see if anything needs repairing but that's not my belief - my belief is that it's not fit for its intended use and i would, in that case prefer a refund and to start again.
Anyone had much luck with things like this? it really is performing terribly ,and having previously owned the same make of machine, i am not doing anything differently, i'm not living or eating differently, for example.
I guess i'm just wondering if a refund is ever that likely.I paid 540 for this one (400+ for the machine, then delivery and installation on top).

You've had it for about 3 months so your consumer rights according to the Consumer Rights Act 2015 are for the seller to repair or replace it. Only if they can't repair or replace within a reasonable time can you ask for a refund. However as it's a local company rather than a big box shifter like Currys they might well be willing to go beyond the legals and agree to refund you or replace with a different make of dishwasher once they have confirmed that it does not conform to contract, to use the technical term.
It sounds like the water pressure from the spinning arms is insufficient to blast everything clean. On an older machine that is usually because the fine jets or the filter are blocked, but on your new machine it is more likely to be a faulty pump.

As you bought it in May, you are outside the initial 30-day rejection period, so the retailer is entitled to investigate and, if a fault is found, normally gets the opportunity to repair or replace it before you can insist on a refund.
I would let the retailer inspect it and, meanwhile, make sure you are using it exactly as the manual specifies rather than simply in the same way as your previous Blomberg. Photographs of consistently dirty items after correctly loaded washes may also help.

yes could kick myself for not taking photographs earlier, but am doing now. have got engineer out, who said he'll put in a better spray or something else. if it ends up better, great, if not, i'll keep going with complaint. apparently any complaint made within first 6 month period is counted as if faulty from purchase, and i think it was timely to get the complaint in within 4 months for that reason alone. i hope it's resolved as i'd prefer not to have to buy again, but also want clean dishes from a dishwasher. it was staritng to be a joke and having several items needing re-cleaning after each load is just a sign of a crap dishwasher imo.
