I moved into a ground floor flat and was pleased that I get a garden. But the downside is that I hear the people upstairs moving about. They have kids and the kids keeps running about. Do you know whether the flat upstairs is Leasehold or Freehold?

If it's LH, there is almost certainly a clause within the lease to keep the floors carpeted to minimise noise for other residents. If the carpet is not fit for purpose, you may be able to contact the Freeholder to ask for some 'pressure' to be placed on the owner
