You might want to rethink the "no access until 18" bit and consider transferring £9k pa from the savings accounts into their JISAs until you've moved it all across.

Kent Reliance Delmeza children's savings cropped up in another thread. Currently pays 4.18% instance access.

However probably limited to branch based cash deposits ( postal accounts require cheque deposits), and KR's branches are all in Kent.

I’ve just opened a Lloyds junior isa and savings account for them both. The advice on the UC thread was to do it asap. Both are in their own names and hopefully will be enough to reassure that the money isn’t for me. I’ll mention it at my review and see if they need any more from me.

The rate offered by Lloyds JISA is not very inviting?

Skipton offers 3.8 % and also a child saver offering 3.6%.
