Bed side wired/cordless light advice please

My thought on rechargeable lamps is that somebody is going to have to remember to charge them regularly. Otherwise, the battery will go flat one night and FIL will be stumbling around in the dark.

His son lives with him so charging them won't be an issue but yes they can run out at night but he has a motion light on the skirting board but then that could go flat as well.

The bedside/wall light is for when he is using the urine bottle.

Argos have a Philips clip on LED light (part no 303/2972) which is rechargable via USB which could be clipped onto headboard or side table and left on low overnight, which may suit your purpose.

And in MSE tradition is reduced to £14.99 at the moment.

I have looked at simaler types and ones that can be screwed into a wall so another option.

What about a remote control socket?

A lamp could be plugged in away from the nightstand, but be switched on using the remote.

I use one, and have the remote attached to my headboard, just using blutack, and it stays put.

Then all electrical components, are away from potential spillages.

Also, my cousin just installed Glowright lights (stick up, or screw on, no wiring necessary) with the hand sensor. So not the typical motion sensor, it's a waving action, right over the sensor. Not sure of the range of that though. I'll let you browse through the website.

The light stays lit until you wave again, or can be set to 10, 20 or 30 mins.
