Morning all, thanks @ScarletRibbons for the start off - hope you (and @camelot1001) feel a bit less meh as the day goes on.
Our weather today is supposed to be warmer but it hasn't got here yet! Maybe (hopefully) this afternoon as I have some washing to hang out.
Yesterday I made a beef casserole for today's dinner, I think it always tastes better the day after. We'll have it with the usual potatoes and veg and I have a fancy for some Yorkshire puddings too. I haven't made any for ages so I'm not sure how they'll turn out. If there's any left it will make a filling for a meat pie later in the week. As for the rest of today it will be the usual lazy Sunday.
There was a parcel left on my doorstep yesterday addressed to DS; it contained a man's T-shirt (big enough to fit someone twice his size) and a box containing five pairs of sunglasses with garish coloured frames. He hadn't ordered anything and no money has been taken from his bank either. A bit of detective work revealed it had come from Temu and we think it's a brushing scam. I've heard of spam, phishing etc but never brushing although apparently it's been around for quite a few years. Link here if you're as mystified as I was. BBC News
@peony40 - I very rarely buy joints of meat now apart from gammon joints but even they're dearer than they used to be so it's back to old fashioned cooking of thrifty meals!
@Gers - My WM and BM have delay functions but I've never used them. Ever since I had a WM that set on fire I've been reluctant to use any appliance overnight or when I'm out of the house.
@mehefin - Nice to hear from you, good work on the litter pick.
Have a good and peaceful Sunday everyone, take care. x

Morning All
Joined friends yesterday for an afternoon of fishing and a bite to eat. Going again this afternoon for a couple of hours, different place.
New ( to us ) furniture arrived looks better than I thought so very happy.
Scarlett hope you feel better as the day goes on.
DP1 enjoy your day with little lad.
TA well done on not getting too much for the freezer. Just been and pulled some more of my potatoes. Really happy as have never grown before and they have been great.
Derek Well done on the litter pick. I know before we moved we couldn't even give things away for free, it's so sad.
Right need to get some move on so hugs to all who need them, enjoy your Sunday

@YorksLass - that must have been nasty! I'm not going to run it at night though it will be early morning, I wake about 6a.m. anyway most days.
The day has continued to be rather gloomy with a high wind. Autumn is definitely on the way.

@Gers - Yes, it was scary; fortunately we were in at the time and able to reach the plug to turn off the power but it did cost us a new WM as it was out of guarantee. 😕 It's part of our tenancy agreement to not use noisy appliances before 8am or after 8pm anyway so that's another reason why it has to be a no-no for me.
Weather update - the rain has just stopped and the sun is out 😃 so the laundry can hang outside.
