Human poo on lawn
Woke up this morning to a nasty surprise ….
Human poo on the lawn - not a little pile but heaps of it - with toilet roll !
Need to fight this….
Security Camera ?
Which type ?
If I was half as smart as I think I am - I'd be twice as smart as I REALLY am.

Do you want to deter or catch?
Any reason to suspect, or worry, it'll repeat?

Both - but no idea why or who
the wife is disgusted and wants to move house

It hasn't happened before? So almost certainly won't happen again.
How did they get in to your garden? Any inkling at all why this would happen?
Do you have windows that fully overlook the garden? If so, the simplest solution, I think, would be to use indoor cameras as they are generally smaller and cheaper and easier to fit - no need to get cables going outside.
Set them up with their built-in IR LEDs off and tight up against the glass, then set up an IR floodlight, possibly on a light sensor, either tight against another window, or outside.
I've bought Imou external cameras on eBay, and can usually pick them up for around £25 in auctions. Impressed so far - they work well with the downloaded App, and - other than the odd glitch - they've performed reliably and well. Add an SD card and it'll record nearly 2 weeks on a loop (possibly more), as well as give alerts and live feed.

If they were just passing drunks, they might not see the cameras and be deterred. A combination lock on your gate, only used after a certain time?

How many drunks walk around with toilet rolls?

stolen from the pub at kicking out time?

Could be a runner. I've heard it before. Although, just doing it and leaving it is awful. At least carry a shopping bag if you can carry a toilet roll. Bizarre what goes on in some people's heads. "But they they have to carry a bag of faeces with them while they run." Maybe they will figure something out along the way.

I run a lot and don't know any runners that would do this. Certainly, don't know anyone who would run carrying a toilet roll.

I've seen it happen in a hotel garden. I was in the ground level swimming pool that was just below ground level and the guy dropped his shorts. I alerted the pool guy who did a chase around the grounds. Didn't catch him. Bit like a benny hill show.
But carrying toilet roll, even that many tissues is just weird.
Problem is, what would you do if you caught them, identified them? If you want to have enough evidence on camera for prosecution you need an all singing and dancing one.
Best to secure the garden. Moving house for one incident seems extreme but I've seen that too.
I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!
