Caterpillars????
I've never had caterpillars eating my roses before, have I just been lucky for the last 26 years? I'm used to them munching through an all-you-can-eat kale buffet (I swear my kale hating OH smuggles them in), but I've never seen them on roses before. So I'm afraid a pair of kitchen scissors "slipped" repeatedly, and think they've all been despatched, seems a bit late in the year…..

I had that last year on just one rose of many in the garden. No sign of a repeat issue this year 🤷♀️

I have had large green sawfly caterpillar on certain ( but not all ) of my roses this year. First time ever in 45 years of growing roses. Possibly exacerbated by the very hot dry weather.

Just checked and they were rose sawfly, will keep checking. Also looking out for tomato blight, so far so good....
