How to level a floor
I am making three rooms into one. They have different levels and types of floor.
two have floorboards. One of the floorboards has cork tiles. The third room has a concrete floor. I want one of the areas tiles (that is where the kitchen is). The other two will be wood.
all slightly different levels.
how do you level it? Screed? Boards?

You could board out the timber floors to match the concrete floor. Or if you want a house full of dust hire a concrete grinder. Generally on site the floors are taken to a FFL, which is Finished Floor Level. This is the level for floors without the carpet, tiles etc.
You could if you want, work out what height the kitchen floor will be with tiles, what height the other rooms will be with an engineered wood floor, and then adjust the floors so they work out level. With a standard FFL the floors will vary in height slightly when different materials are used for the rooms.
