Want some free Euros in Spain ?

A Santander card in a Santander ATM is now (as far as I know) the only way to get totally free cash in Spain.
I use a Starling card for contactless transactions but always put a few hundred Euro into a Santander account as backup.

Unicaja seems to continue to be fee free with UK "travel friendly" debit cards.
However, like many Spanish banks they appear to be mostly located in their traditional operating areas, whereas Banco Santander are widespread nationally.
Just one caution - standalone ATMs of the Euro Automatic Cash network (there are many) which include the BS logo are 50/50 owned with BS, however they are only fee free to domestic customers. Always us a branch based (oficina) BS machine (cajero) to withdraw cash, without conversion of course.
