Octopus Go Fixed price increases

My fix with Octopus is coming to an end shortly.

I am currently paying:

Off peak - 4.99p

Peak - 26.38p

Standing charge - 58.21p

My 12M fix renewal is showing the prices below:

Off peak - 9.5p

Peak - 33.09p

Standing charge - 63.22p

Quite shocked at how the off peak has almost doubled, and also the increases to the peak and SC.

Its as though the levys that were removed from energy bills back in April 2026 have been added back on, when these should be removed permentantly.

Has anyone else noticed a massive increase on their new fix?

Far more usage on off peak now with the increase in EV's & home batteries.

The prices for new fixes changed before the levy removals.

You are just comparing prices 12 months apart…

Yes, Octopus Go has been 9.5p off-peak since something like April. It's the current reality of energy prices.

Also, if you are on Agile, you know that low overnight wholesale prices are largely a thing of the past, since the Orange Idiot's Unnecessary War. I'm guessing Octopus are balancing losing money on the overnight charging with a greater margin on the cheaper daytime wholesale rates from solar.

That 4.9p off peak rate was an anomaly. It was 8.5p this time last year.

You might want to look at other suppliers instead of Octopus. EDF, for example, seem to charge 6.99p overnight and that is for 7 hours.

My attitude it is what it is, since the Octopus Go price increase earlier this year and reduction in export tariff we are around £100 worse off. I am reluctant to change suppliers Octopus have been A1 to us, we have had bad experiences in the past before changing to Octopus many years ago.
