Octopus gas fix or not?

Morning. My ex was in charge of the energy so I'm just getting back in the swing of it. I'm with octopus as I've panels and a battery and an EV that occasionally needs charging so I'm on intelligent octopus go for electricity

Its the gas. It's on flexible octopus. I have the choice to fix it on a 12m fix. The price jumps from 7.19per unit to 7.61 per unit. But looks like the new cap in October will be 7.91? Even though octopus are charging 0.14p below the cap rate for gas, that should mean it's higher come October and I should fix.

Just looking for that second opinion before I hit yes 🙂

I just fixed at the same price I was on with the variable. Thought it would only carry on going up. Some here are moving to Fuse for gas. Might be worth checking out and doing some sums. I'm a high gas user and it wouldn't have saved anything for me but lower uses have found it cheaper.

Just looking again and the deal I got last week has gone! Seems we need to be quick.
