Suggestions for a car that fits a wheelchair in the boot

practical and easier for some disabled people to get in. I find SUVs difficult to get in.

My dad recently had something like these fitted in the boot - bought brand new & cost around £2k to supply & fit
Adding this just in case you (or anyone else reading) needs to future proof

Although normally as you get older, SUVs are preferred by some, as they are a lot easier to get out of than a low slung saloon/hatchback/estate.
Echo above comment from Mrs side, as the seats in some are higher, it a easy slide in. No dropping down into seat & then struggle to get out.
Again not all are the same testing is best.

My parents' Motability car is a Citroen C5 aircross. This easily fits 2 wheelchairs in the boot (stacked on top of each other).
Whilst I drive their car to take them to all appointments, we recently had to use our own car whilst theirs was in for service. Although our Range Rover Evoque is fairly large, we simply cannot fit even 1 wheelchair in the boot without putting the rear seats down. It's just slightly too shallow from front to back.
So don't assume that all 'larger' cars / SUVs would fit it, as that's not the case. Best plan is to go to dealers with your wheelchair and try it out.

We used to have a Mk1 Juke. It was a good small car and our wheelchair went in the boot if we took the boot floor out.
