Sky COVID cancellation led to debt collection and a default CCJ — similar experiences?

So the court papers were sent to the correct address that you were living at the time?
How much did you owe Sky and what was the court claim amount?
Did you ever receive any debt collection letters from/for Sky at any time?

Thanks. The claim form later supplied was addressed to where I was living, although I did not receive it, and I did receive debt-collection correspondence.
I am still waiting for the complete account ledger and the applicable contract terms, so I cannot yet give a reliable answer about precisely what sum was contractually due. As the court and complaint processes remain active, I would rather not publish the detailed figures or evidence here.
My main question remains whether anyone else was unable to access a workable cancellation route during the lockdown restrictions, and what eventually resolved it for them.

I don't know why you don't want to put up details (personan details redacted) on here as it could help your case.
You say you never got any court papers, did you get any court documents after the claim that you never received at all?
You said you got debt collection letters about the Sky debt at the address were these before the court papers or after?
When you got the debt letters did you contact Sky and/or debt collection company and ask them why you are getthese letters?
You are a bit vague in CCJ time line so have you contacted the court and got a copy of the claim form as that should have the amount owed plus court fees charged.

Workable cancellaton was by old fashioned pen and paper perhaps?

As I and others has said on this thread and lots of other Sky threads to do with cancellations you could send a letter asking to cancel but Sky once they get that letter they contact the account holder and get them to confirm this or the services still continue until canceled.
COVID wouldn't of helped things but OP hasn't er said that Sky called them to get them to cancellation requests by letter.
Not sure if that is the case now but it was 2 or 3 years ago

BTW, you can convert the text into an active clickable link by pressing space or return after pasting it (now that the forum software no longer does this automatically)…

@eskbanker thanks for that tip.
This software on MSE has been a pain but I suppose it's a free forum so have to get on with it.
