OTOH if I am after something unusual I will always ask an online order picker because of their consolidated knowledge of the store layouts over other staff, and also whether a product is stocked. Saved me a lot of time sourcing chia seeds and potato starch.

No man is worth crawling on this earth.

So much to read, so little time.

I read somewhere that pickers are not allowed to go and look for items. They have to pick what's on the shelves. It may have been on Tesco website that i read it. That is where i have my orders from. I have one lovely driver that helps bring my shopping in. I have trouble after an operation for a broken hip. But it's only him that does.

Being new recently to online shopping, I have another question about Christmas delivery slots.

Do you have to put your order in when you book the slot or can you book the slot and put the order in later?

You mostly have to order and book slot at same time. The money is not taken until delivery so you are not paying way ahead of time

What many do, including me, is make up an order to meet the minimum spend, with your normal basics, like bread, milk etc. Plus anything you know you'll want, packets of stuffing, Christmas puds etc in the knowledge that you have until delivery to amend, change, or even cancel, without incurring any costs.

All the while ensuring you have a slot booked & secured

PS, don't do as I did and order a fresh turkey, then find out I was too late to cancel a fresh one and finished up knee deep in turkey that year!

@Farway So it works like a normal order, only getting it delivered later, thank you.

Won't be ordering turkey but was thinking more about when they announce the cheap veg.

Yes, just like a delayed normal one. Depending on who you use the cheap veg is auto applied, so order say spuds at £1.50 and they becomes 50P, but it don't bank on it. My Asda one seems to work, but rules change
