Good morning all from a rather damp but sunny Mehefinland
Haven't posted in what seems like ages but not much has been happening other than the usual stuff. Seemed to have spent a lot of time travelling to various auction houses to collect things that have been bought!! Can't move for crockery at the moment!! Plus several pieces of antique furniture. It has made me evaluate what I really wanted to keep ( mostly sentimental stuff), so the process of decluttering is ongoing.
Can't remember if I mentioned that I was talked into having some chickens? Anyway, they are here and ensconced in one of the loose boxes. I had to build an outside run too which has a rain cover on one end - I can not get it taut so it flaps about in the wind - the horses think it is VERY scary and won't go anywhere near it, which was a problem initially. They seem to have accepted it now but it is quite funny seeing them scuttle past it. As they have to pass the run to come into the barn ( and that's where we get fed !!) it was a bit fraught for a few days.
We finally got some significant rain and the field is 'greening up'.Just have to keep an eye on the nags so they don't gorge themselves on new grass and get colic.
Think we start back at choir next week- no doubt it will be C music now.
Hugs and spoons as always
Mehefin aka Derek

Morning all, thanks for the start @Gers.
Dry and sunny here this morning and breezier than of late, showers quite possible around lunchtime. Yesterday we did have some substantial rain with thunder and lightning but it was fairly short-lived, not what I would say warranted a yellow weather warning, although of course it may have been worse for others. After the storm had passed it stayed very dull for the rest of the day and the curtains were drawn by 7.30 pm.
I'm not feeling the urge to do much today (a bit like yesterday) and, since there's nothing that can't wait, I can see it being another pottering day. Even dinner isn't a hassle as we'll be finishing off what's left of a meatloaf with oven chips and peas.
@peony40 - I'll be taking a leaf out of your book by changing summer curtains for winter ones soon. They're all clean and ready to go up but may need a bit of an iron over them first.
@Gers - I've streamed the first two episodes of The Rainmaker and, having recently read the book, am in two minds about it. Already it's deviating away from the plot. 😕
Whatever you get up to, have a good day and stay safe. xx
Be kind to others and to yourself too.7 -
Thanks @YorksLass - if this is the John Grisham novel then I've read lots of grim reviews.
