Credit Cards and ATMs
Why is it that, when I ask for a balance, instead of telling my what my current balance is, the ATM tells me my available credit?
I'm looking for what I owe, not what I still have available to spend.

Balances at ATMS are for current accounts, not credit cards.
Available credit tells you how much you could get as a cash advance.2 -
Couldn't they arrange for it to tell you both?

Isn't that what app and online is for?

Yep, log into the account and see the limit, then go to the ATM and see the available credit, subtract that from the limit and find out what you owe, simples.

Bank account & credit cards run on totally different systems.

Isn't your balance the difference between your maximum credit limit and what is currently available to spend ?
Straightforward arithmetic ?

Not when standing at an ATM.

No mobile to check?
Check before you go?
For obvious reasona the majority don't withdraw cash on a CC so no real demand for what you want.

As above, if you're looking for what you owe, an ATM isn't the facility to provide that information, unless you're able and willing to perform some simple arithmetic, so you'd need to source it from one of the other places instead!
